DEFINITION OF SERVICES
CONTRACTOR shall provide the following services:
- Contractor shall cooperate with the Mendocino County Lodging Association and the Mendocino Wine Grape and Wine Commission, Chambers of Commerce, Arts Council of Mendocino County, Restaurants and other promotional organizations within the County to provide the services, activities and programs to promote tourism and the marketing of the County and related products, including the scenic, recreational, cultural, viticulture and other attractions. Such cooperation shall include, but is not limited to, active participation in the Joint Marketing Committee.
- Assist development of fulfillment materials such as a travelers guide, travel planner, and brochures including printing or distribution; this shall include a process to include and provide benefit to all MCPA member associations. Outcome: Piece(s) will be published by August 2008.
- Assignment of responsibility to coordinate and promote Major Festival(s)/Event(s). This includes promotion and coordination of the “Taste Mendocino” Festival as well as financial, promotional and staff support, as appropriate, to regional events and festivals sponsored by member organizations.
- Preparation of a community calendar of events. Outcome: Staff to coordinate events and calendar for all member associations as well as other promotional groups within the County by March 2008.
- Provide financial and staff support, as requested, for Mendocino County Film Office in order to have a presence at Location show(s) as well as coordination of commercials, films, etc.
- Provide support for public relations efforts of MCLA & MWWC, assisting with visiting media, providing requested information, etc. This includes the provision of staff support to host and provide logistical support for in-county familiarization and press tours.
- Organize a process to bring together existing campaign(s) to promote the county’s natural resources and cultural heritage. This includes financial and staff support to the Mendocino Nature Travel Council.
- Implementation of the Tourist Orientation Directional Signage (TODS) program developed in 2002 as well as signage for County Museum, National Forest and other areas of interest. See attached for more detailed information.
- GoMendo.com website maintenance, enhancement and promotion in cooperation with member associations through the Joint Marketing Committee.
- Assist in performing market research required by MCLA & MWWC as well as MCPA’s other member associations to assist in overall marketing efforts.
- Assist in development and implementation of a 3-5 year County-wide Marketing Plan in cooperation with MCLA & MWWC.
- Support visitor services throughout the County. This includes the tracking and reporting of all forms of visitor inquires as well as providing fulfillment services to support MCLA, MWWC and member association marketing programs.
- Annual scheduling of the trade show booth used by MWWC and MCLA to promote tourism to Mendocino County. Includes staffing assistance, if requested, at trade shows.
- Production of a quarterly e-mail newsletter to fulfill on-line, phone and mail requests.
- MCPA shall enter, staff and organize the trade show booth at the Mendocino County Fair and Apple Show and the Redwood Empire Fair. This includes the display at the State Capital.
- Connect local businesses with the resources of GoMendo.com, the promotional opportunities of MWWC and MCLA and its other membership associations.
- MCPA, when applicable, shall seek and apply for grants and awards to support the countywide marking and promotional efforts of the County of Mendocino, MCPA, MCLA and MWWC.
- Develop a pilot program for visitor centers throughout the County by August 2008.
- Hold annual Board of Directors facilitation advance to review mission and strategic direction of the organization and promotion of Mendocino County as a whole.
- MCPA to provide a quarterly report of above deliverables, as applicable. A 1-2 page summary of accomplishments will be included with each report.
